Notion- Productivity tool on steroids

There has been a tremendous rise in productivity and project/life management tools in the past few years. Every day you see a new tool out there that promises to help get your life in order and always be on top of things. I have tried almost everything under the sun. ToDoist, Wunderlist, Microsoft planner and Trello, to name a few. But quite frankly, none have even come close to the level that Notion operates in.

Launched back in 2016, Notion is an all-in-one productivity application that provides task and project management systems. It includes components like notes, databases, kanban boards, calendars, lists, timelines and reminders in one place. By using Notion, individuals and teams can connect members to build systems from scratch. The app creates knowledge hubs, note systems, database management, project management boards, and fully functioning blogs and websites. Although it's an excellent tool for collaboration, I use it primarily for getting my life in order.

Notion is available for free online and via apps on iOS, Android, Mac, and windows. Apart from being free to use, one of notion's major success factors is its community. There are hundreds of bloggers, YouTubers who post content on how to use the software effectively. Notion themselves have templates that you can download. There are thousands of templates out there if you don't want to create one yourself. I am currently writing this blog on notion and keeping track of my various blogs via a blog dashboard. All this was set up via a few clicks and got me organised in a few minutes. You have templates for keeping track of your projects, to-do lists, daily reflections and yearly planning to name a few. There is a template for everything you can imagine. And if there isn't, it's not very hard to create one. I learned about notion very recently and got hooked on it after Jules's online course called 'Simplify and Thrive'. She gives a ton of handy tips and then shares a complete notion dashboard for getting things done! Do give it a shot. It's definitely worth it.

In a short period, I’ve been able to use it to manage my life more effectively. I have many ideas to utilise Notion for many different other things in my life. The possibilities are endless, and that is what makes it a lot of fun.

In September 2019, the company announced it had reached 1 million users. In April 2020 it raised a round at a $2 billion valuation with 4 million users. Notion received $50 million in investment from Index Ventures and other investors in January 2020. The company's corporate value is $2 billion, entering the unicorn ranks.
